Obviously he was disappointed and his head was bowed. He did raise he head slightly as he gave the Wolves fans a clap. However, what struck me was that he was on his own. The rest of the Wolves players were at the centre of the pitch shaking hands, etc. It felt to me that Doyler was almost distancing himself from the rest. I cannot blame him, he’s carrying the team at the moment. It wasn’t as though he was a few steps in front of the rest. He walked into the tunnel on his own, a considerable distance in front of the rest of the Wolves team. It would not be a good thing if he started to think that he wasn’t part of this team.

pathetic-the way people go on about doyle anybody would think he is the greatest player ever to wear a wolves shirt-he played very well yesterday as he has done all season but i am getting a bit tiresome of this over hyped adulation-there has been & will be far better players than doyle to wear the gold & black-you would think that if he was that good we would be higher up the league-he gets paid very handsomely to give his all for the team-dont forget he did get relegated(along with the great stephen hunt)with reading & also failed to fire them to promotion last season-i also dont think the other 10 players are complete muppets

I actually think you're underrating Doyle. He's carrying the team at the moment IMO. He's probably the most skillful player I've seen in a Wolves shirt since Keane, if not better. Unfortunately I'm not 52 so I cannot remember watch Wolves when we were an established top flight team.
I personally think that Doyle will be playing in an established PL team next year. That mean unless we prove to him that we can buy quality to make us an established PL team next season, then he'll be poached by a better PL team than us (that is if we're still in the PL). Wolves have never really been a selling club but I think we will be forced to part with Doyle in the summer unless our wage structure is improved considerably and we sign some quality.
My worry is that when he walked off the pitch at Blues he never looked like he was part of the team. He was distanced from them.
I spoke with several Liverpool fans at Anfield on Boxing Day and they said that Doyle was high on their hit list. In fact the rumor that evening was that Liverpool were going to make a bid in January. This may have all been hear-say but the fact that these kind of rumors are around means that a move for Doyle to an established PL team is not inconceivable.

I agree big time BD, i feel really sorry for him. He deserves to be in a top top team he is fantastic. Best all round player at this club in years.
But i reckon we'll make a profit, thus adding to the financial stability of the club.
So that's ok then.

Anyway Doyle, no i have to agree he is not the greatest player to don a wolves shirt, but he is clearly a cut above the rest at the moment with his work rate attitude and ability, and as such i dont think the praise is miss placed.
Unfortunatly in the next window, i see him moving on to a premier league team, i have lost the slim belief i had that we will survive.. dont get me wrong i still hope we can, just feel MM is clueless as to how to turn a team around, well turn a propper team out on the pitch actually... (some confussion over where a defender and a midfielder starts is just the begining of my woe)

i do rate doyle as a good player but not a great player & certainly not better than robbie keane-years ago when we got relegated even andy gray stayed loyal for a season in the 2nd div.(as was then)-what price loyalty from doyle IF we did go down?-i have not got the time to write a great long list of players far far better than doyle ever will be but john richards ken hibbitt dave wagstaffe peter knowles steve bull andy mutch derek dougan to name a few-liverpool need a goalscorer to play with torres not someone like doyle-anyway we all know how good benitez is in the transfer market & i dont think he would ever go for a player like doyle.i do think he is a good player as previously stated & sincerely hope he stays & more importantly scores 2moro
